Chief McCleery has been in the fire service for over nine years.  Starting in 1999 as a volunteer in Hazelwood, he quickly rose to a Safety Officer and Captain over training.  Chief McCleery joined Madison Township in 2002 and was promoted to Captain in 2003, and most recently promoted to Operations Chief in 2008 and Assistant Chief in 2009.

Chief McCleery has been a career Firefighter/EMT at Mooresville since 2005.  In addition to his EMT certification that he holds, Chief McCleery also holds the following state fire certifications:
